Professional Experience Doug is a graduate of Ohio State University with a BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in transportation, remote sensing and surveying. He began his career at Woolpert Consultants as a Transportation Engineer and then accepted the appointment as Director of Special Projects of the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization (CAO) where he managed Lawrence County’s water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, floodplain management, solid waste management and planning projects. He later joined the regional consulting firm of CT Consultants as their Branch Office Manager of their Huntington, West Virginia office prior to joining E.L. Robinson Engineering as the Ironton, Ohio Office in charge of operations in southern Ohio, Eastern Kentucky and Florida. He was appointed Lawrence County Engineer in 2011 and served until 2015 when he accepted the position as Deputy County Engineer in Hancock County, Ohio and appointed County Engineer in December 2018. During his career he has successfully managed and assisted in obtaining funding for over $325 million in infrastructure projects.
He was raised in Gallia County on a cattle farm and active in athletics, 4-H and FFA in his youth. He is married to Ruth (Saunders) Cade, PE, MSChE a Chemical Engineer at Marathon Petroleum. She is a graduate of Ohio University and earned a Masters Degree from Marshall University. They have two children, Jonathon, a Chemical Engineer and Grace a sophomore at Cory Rawson High School.
