Brion E. Rhodes, P.E., P.S.
Allen County Engineer

Brion is a graduate of the Ohio Northern University and holds dual registration as a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor.  He joined the Allen County Engineer’s Office in 1997 and has served in several key roles, including Bridge Engineer and Chief Deputy.  In 2009, he was honored as the County Employee of the Year by the County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO).  Brion was appointed as the Allen County Engineer in 2015 and was elected to the position the following year.  He is currently serving his third term.

As County Engineer, Brion oversees the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Allen County’s transportation infrastructure, which includes 353 miles of roads and 372 bridges.  He leads a team of 45 employees and manages an annual operating budget of approximately $8.25 million.

Brion is also actively engaged in statewide and regional public service.  He serves as a Commissioner on the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), sits on the OPWC District 13 Integrating Committee, and is Chairperson of the Allen County Transportation Improvement District (ACTID).  In addition, he has contributed in various capacities at the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission.

Brion and his wife, Julie, reside in Bluffton, Ohio.  They are the proud parents of two adult children, Logan and Lauren.
